About Alyssa

Hello, my name is Alyssa Schienbein. I am passionate about working with people who have exceptionalities and in the area of child development. Exceptionalities is another word for specials needs and encompasses cognitive and physical needs. From anxiety to Down’s syndrome to cerebral palsy to trauma, I am versed and continually learning. It is my goal to help you and your child by providing fun, engaging, and educational activities that help target lagging skills. I will create an inclusive and welcoming environment and strive to provide top quality education to all children in my programs.

As an educator I specialize in creating unique learning opportunities to enhance important skills like literacy, numeracy and motor skills and movement. In addition to working as an elementary school teacher, I have spent the last 9 years working with many people with exceptionalities ranging from ages 4 to 84.  As a Care Aide and Respite Worker, I’ve been able to connect on a personal and professional level always gaining increased admiration and understanding with each new person I work with.

I have a son who has inspired my love for child development and has pushed me to broaden my knowledge in programs that best support development from ages 0-5. Through this, I began my yoga journey and providing mothers/to-be with perinatal nutritional support, pre and post natal yoga, as well as mommy and me yoga. To keep up my own practice I teach flow classes once a week.

I have my Bachelor of Education, a Special Education Certification and have completed my Masters of Special Education and Educational Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan.

My yoga certifications are through Renew Yoga and BlissBaby Yoga.

I will post all my programs on this site and all information that coincides with them.
